Cakes are an assembly of tubes, usually single-shot Roman Candles, fused together to fire in rapid sequence. A quick-fire sequence of effects is fired into the air all from a single fuse.

Probably the most spectacular of all fireworks but now banned for sale to the general public. Shells are fireworks which are fired from a MORTAR TUBE buried in the ground. A gunpowder charge fires the shell from the tube to a great height when it then explodes into a sphere of stars.

A small rolled paper tube containing flash powder, typically braided by their fuses into long strings.  When the fuse is lit, the flame travels to the inside of the firecracker and ignites the powder, causing it to explode.

A cardboard cylinder pre loaded with a pyrotechnic charge that propels a shell into the air that breaks into a color effect. Tubes can be loaded with multiple charges with varying visual and audible effects.
